In 2003, Gridcore also assisted with the installation and configuration of a new Linuxbased cluster for running LS-Dyna. The cluster uses standard HP workstations and has Platform LSF as the DRM system of choice.

2002

LS-DYNA simulations have an important role in research and development projects at SSAB Hardtech.

The importance of the analyzes and the growing number of users on the departments compute resources have increased and are expected to grow even further the coming years. To ensure that the compute resources are sufficient and reliable, SSAB Hardtech began to make the specifications for a new solution to replace the old file and application server.

The chosen solution was to switch from a platform running Tru64 Unix on an Alpha server to a solution running RedHat Linux on an Intel based Compaq Proliant server.

Gridcore assisted with installation and migration issues as well as the configuration of new services in order to create a stable and scalable solution. The new server runs both LS-DYNA and LSF from Platform Computing and acts as a master server for the departments compute resources.
