Optical Research lab at Acreo AB

Gridcore provided the Optical Systems and Networks Laboratory at Acreo AB with a complete solution for high performance computing, ranging from specification of hardware and set-up to system and applications support.

Acreo AB is a Swedish Research and Development company with focus on contract research within the areas of optics and microelectronics.

The Optical Systems and Networks Laboratory performs state of the art research in areas such as network planning, high-speed transmission. Modelling of WDM systems in core, metro, and access networks is part of the work. Physical transmission properties, traffic and management issues together with overall network economy are examples of important issues addressed in this context.

The solution delivered to Acreo consists of a Linux cluster and it includes load balancing for applications such as Matlab and VPI TransmissionMaker.
